SPEAKING IN OTHER TONGUES THE BIBLE WAY

A very Dear Minister of God whom we hold in high esteem Prophet Paschal Wilson had just shared this profound writing with us and upon editorial review with his permission we are sharing this with you today. It safe to say that this is Prophet Paschal’s letter and in this very case a Loveletter from him to all believers across the globe, not just for those in America, Rome, South Africa or in Asia Minor.
There are so much to be said about the subject of  speaking in other tongues and there are many who are yet to grasp the core of it. This will educate and also inspire you to gain a deeper insight into Biblical perspective why as a believer in Jesus Christ, you should walk in the consciousness of spiritual realities and get on board in enjoying the privileges associated with it.
10 Biblical Reasons Every Christian Believer Should Speak in Other Tongues—
1. Evidence of Baptism in the Holy Spirit: Acts 2:4 illustrates that speaking in tongues was the initial physical evidence of the baptism in the Holy Spirit. This spiritual baptism leads to a deeper connection with God.
2. Spiritual Edification: As stated in 1 Corinthians 14:4, those who speak in a tongue edify themselves. It is a tool that God has given believers to build themselves up spiritually.
3. Praying God’s Perfect Will: When we do not know what to pray for, the Spirit intercedes for us through wordless groans (Romans 8:26-27). Speaking in tongues allows the Spirit to pray through us.
4. Manifestation of the Spirit’s Presence: According to Acts 10:44-46, the Gentiles spoke in tongues when the Holy Spirit fell upon them. This was a clear manifestation of the Spirit’s presence.
5. Promotes Spiritual Intimacy: In 1 Corinthians 14:2, Paul says that the one speaking in a tongue speaks not to men but to God. This enables a more intimate communication with God.
6. A Sign to Unbelievers: In 1 Corinthians 14:22, tongues are described as a sign, not for believers, but for unbelievers. It can serve as a divine testament to non-believers.
7. Stimulates Faith: Speaking in tongues often accompanies faith-filled moments in the Bible (Acts 19:6). It can stimulate faith and encourage spiritual growth.
8. Enhances Worship: In Ephesians 5:18-20, believers are encouraged to be filled with the Spirit, speaking to one another in psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs. Tongues can enhance worship and create a more profound spiritual atmosphere.
9. Spiritual Warfare: In Ephesians 6:18, Paul encourages praying in the Spirit on all occasions. Speaking in tongues is a spiritual weapon, a form of prayer that confounds the enemy.
10. A Divine Mystery: Speaking in tongues is a divine mystery that transcends human comprehension (1 Cor 14:2). It reflects the mysterious and powerful work of God’s Spirit in us.
Speaking in tongues is more than an ecstatic experience. It is a biblical practice with profound spiritual implications. Embracing this gift can lead to a deeper relationship with God, increased faith, and enhanced spiritual warfare. As Pentecostal believers, speaking in tongues should not be the exception but the norm. Let us, therefore, embrace this divine gift, and witness the transformative power it can have in our spiritual lives!
I thank God that I speak in tongues more than all of you. 1 Corinthians 14:18
In the journey of the Supernatural life with Christ there are practices that hold profound significance. One such practice, as emphasized by Smith Wigglesworth, is speaking in tongues, a manifestation of being filled with the Spirit. He believed that no one should start their day or enter a meeting without being lost in the Spirit and speaking in tongues. The practice of speaking in tongues, he argued, is an essential part of being baptized in the Spirit.
Speaking in tongues, according to Wigglesworth, is more than just a spiritual practice; it’s a lifestyle. It is a testament to the indwelling of the Spirit, a palpable demonstration of the spiritual immersion experienced by believers. It’s the language of the spirit that transcends human comprehension, a divine dialect that bridges the gap between the earthly and the heavenly.
The importance of speaking in tongues cannot be overstated. It is an affirmation of the Spirit’s presence within us, a sign of our surrender to the divine will. It is a form of worship, a way of communicating with God that transcends the limitations of human language.
In his teachings, Wigglesworth emphasized that the Spirit should fill us to the extent that every part of our being is yielded to Him. This complete surrender, he maintained, is evidenced by the constant filling of the Spirit, resulting in speaking in tongues at all times – morning, noon, and night.
Speaking in tongues is not just a spiritual exercise, but a testament to the believer’s intimacy with God. It is a constant reminder of the Spirit’s abiding presence within us. It is a form of prayer that fosters a deeper connection with the divine, a spiritual dialogue that transcends the barriers of human dialect.
Praying in tongues, as emphasized by Smith Wigglesworth, is a fundamental aspect of our spiritual journey. It is an essential practice that signifies our surrender to the Spirit, a unique form of worship that fosters a deeper connection with the divine. As we navigate through our spiritual journey, let us embrace this divine dialect, allowing it to guide our prayers and enrich our relationship with God.
