And when they were departed, behold, the angel of the Lord appeareth to Joseph in a dream, saying, Arise, and take the young child and his mother, and flee into Egypt, and be thou there until I bring thee word: for Herod will seek the young child to destroy him. (Matthew 2:13).
It was Mike Murdock who said every friendship nurtures a strength or a weakness within you. How true that statement is. One of the best gifts God can give a man isn’t money or fame, it is the gift of men. Interestingly, the enemy also mimics the same principle. You must be careful who you allow into your circle because your life and vision have the tendency to follow the same direction.
In our opening verse, the Bible tells us wise men from the East came to visit Jesus when he was born. These men paid homage to Herod who was the king of Judea at the time. He must have felt threatened that he found out what the Bible said about Jesus – “And thou Bethlehem, in the land of Juda, art not the least among the princes of Juda: for out of thee shall come a Governor, that shall rule my people, Israel.” (Matthew 2:6). Herod told the wise men to bring him word after they have visited Jesus so he could also visit. Herod ran out of luck – “And being warned of God in a dream that they should not return to Herod, they departed into their own country another way.” (Matthew 2:12).
This is where our opening verse begins to add up. The angel of the Lord instructed Joseph in a dream to take Jesus and flee to Egypt. Why in the world will God want Joseph to flee with Mary and Jesus to Egypt? Child of God, everyone isn’t equipped to handle your vision. Be careful who you share your dreams with because every ear doesn’t have the discipline to safe keep them.
Some battles are unnecessary and not worth the fight. Protect your visions and dreams from people who have no regard or value for anything. Herod had no value for life and he showed it by killing all the male children who were born around the same time as Jesus. Learn when to leave the scene or end the argument. Protect your visions from those determined to see it die.

Precious Father, I receive help and wisdom to protect my dreams and visions from unreasonable men and women in the name of Jesus Christ.
