Jesus Is The Only Way
John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
Definition of Way:
1; A method, style or manner of doing something for example that is not a way of speaking to your mother.
2; A route or road that you take in order to reach a place for example can you show me the way to Detroit.
Right from the beginning of creation God has a certain way of doing things. God has a way of communicating, a way of leading, a way of teaching, a way of defending and so on and so forth. You see the way God will reach out to Brother John may be quite different from how He will reach out to Brother Jude. You see the beautiful thing about our God is He has several approaches of doing things. He cannot be constrained, limited or tied down. Human beings are very unpredictable, it is difficult to know all the ways of a man. But we have a God who knows all the ways of our life
It will interest you that this God we know who sent His only begotten son Jesus Christ to us is “THE ONLY WAY, AND THE BEST WAY.” He knows the way of both life and death
Jeremiah 21:8. Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
Man’s Way #1. The way of man has been corrupted because of the introduction of Sin
Romans 3:23. For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
This portion applies to every one, male or female regardless of their character, the quality of life they live, how honest they appear, even the integrity associated with them and so on and so forth.
Man’s Way #2. The way of man is not always right. There are things in the sight of men that may look, sound and feel right. But if it is measured by the word of God it falls below God’s standard Proverbs 14:12. There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.
God’s Way#1. God abhors sin and there is a clear case of separation between God and sin.
Isaiah 59:2. But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear.
God’s Way#2 The way of God is distinctly different from satan. God has come to give us abundant life
John 10:9-10.
9. I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.
10.The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.
Proverbs 8:35. For whoso findeth me, findeth life and shall obtain favour of the Lord.
Some of the consequences of the ways of man as dictated by the flesh can be seen in the scriptures:
Galatians 5:19-21;
19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,
20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,
21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.
While on the other hand there is the way of the Spirit of God as impacted on the the life of a child of God to their human spirit known in the scriptures as the fruit of the spirit. God is very clear about the distinction of the fruit.
Galatians 5:22-23.
22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
God’s way are holy, righteous, incomparable, indescribable etc. For anyone to come into His Way, that individual MUST surrender their life to Him. This is the recommendation of scriptures regarding salvation. This is the reason the Lord Himself told a Teacher of the laws known in the scriptures as Nicodemus in John 3:3 ; Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
I am aware there are those whose religious inclinations and indoctrinations have taught them there are so many ways to God, incidentally that is false and misleading. Starting with our opening verse we see clearly the Words of the Master in John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. This explains why Apostle Peter being full of the Spirit in Acts 4:12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.
