When you look back on your life you aren’t going to see the results of your bad days. You’re going to see the results of the next day, the next moment. The defining moment where you decide to lay down and give in or get back up. Maybe you’re broken and hurting, maybe you said and did some things you shouldn’t have. Thankfully, Jesus already accounted for it. I know the pain, the regret and the shame can feel unbearable.
I’m reminded of David when he was morning the potential loss of his child, a direct consequence of his own sin. Those around him feared he would lose his mind or not be able to go on after hearing his child had died. They were shocked when he wiped his face, stop mourning and got back up. He knew there was no changing what had happened, he had a choice to make; give up or get up and complete his assignment.
I’m here to remind you that your place of struggle does NOT determine your heart of surrender. Many of us will be fought in the very area we are called to bring breakthrough. It is a perpetual invitation to lean deeper into the truth of His love, grace and promises. We can’t do any of this on our own, He chooses who He chooses. And those with a heart to perpetually say yes are the ones who will see the reward. It’s not about our perfection, it’s about His.
I feel so strongly that the enemy is trying to get many of you to give up on the call and promises He has spoken over you. I want to encourage you, don’t give up, you are almost there. The fierceness of the battle is a mere reflection of the closeness of the promise. The enemy is the one who is scared, you see the storm, but he can see the promise land hidden behind the veil. Once you step over, there will be no stopping you. The raging and chaos that happens at the doorstep of promise is a refining fire testing the depths of your faith and intimacy with Him. Where will you look? What will you believe? Now is not the time to hang your head in defeat. Now is the time to stand tall, one foot in front of the other, boldly walking into the territory you were promised.
Today, beloved saints make a resolve that no matter what you are not giving up and you are not giving in. You are steadfast in your surrender and He is faithful to His promises. Align your heart with the vision He’s placed in your heart, not what the reality you see. There IS a promise land, and He is the doorkeeper! What He opens no man can shut, and what He shuts no man can open. Rise up in the midst of it all, gazed locked, faith in tact and hope in all its fullness. It’s not over yet, He is still working and still moving.
