“It’s Going to Be Different This Time,” I heard the Spirit of the Lord saying to His beloved in this hour of long wilderness. Many of you have been through long wilderness seasons; traumatic events and reoccurring cycles that seem to never end. There have prophetic words and promises spoken over you again and again. Yet, to no avail, it seems like things always turn out the same. You have kept your faith and hope up but, tiredness is beginning to set in. Just as you feel you are about to enter your new season, old familiar territory and situations seem to show up.
Heard and sense so strongly that the Lord is speaking something new over His faithful ones in this season. He is saying, do not fear, it WILL be different this time!! It does not matter how many times you feel like you have been around the same mountain, in a moment everything can change. In a moment, He change the landscape. In a moment, He can bring His promises to pass.
When you have endured the same heartache for so long. When you have stood and stood and believed you can grow comfortable, in the waiting place. We can become stuck in battle mode. We are so used to warring, that we miss the promise coming to pass right before us. Remember to stop and take a look around. Everything may look the same, but YOU are a completely new creation. You have not come out of the wilderness empty. You have come out ready to be filled with something new! Maybe you have been around this mountain before, but because of the change in you, you will no longer just go around the mountain, you will climb it. You will take it!
The scenery does not have to change, only the eyes of the one who is viewing it. This journey is about the new found perspective that the wilderness grew in you. It was bought with tears, but it is a powerful gift and a key to behold. You can see things in ways others cannot, and that changes everything. You thought the journey was about promises coming to pass, when in reality, it was about you. You are His promise. When your focus is shifted completely and you can see the beauty and His faithfulness, then He can trust you with this new season.
Take heart, let hope arise! This time WILL be different. Do not be dismayed or discouraged if the beginning of the road looks all too familiar. Continue to stand on His promise that although the scenery may look familiar, the journey and the end destination will be different this time. You have been faithful and stood strong. You have trusted when everything was falling apart and your heart was breaking. And because of that, He has been, and will continue to be closer than a friend. He is rewriting your story. This is a new chapter; a new beginning, and it will be better than ever.
