Sometimes without saying a word, God only wants to hold us. Let Him hold you today. Years ago, my career almost destroyed me. I fell in love with it more than the Lord! Our obsession of our career or talent can destroy us at times. If we are not careful, it can be our number one enemy! It happens to me when the Lord call me to full time ministry to give up a high paying professional career to serve Him full time. I obeyed God desire innocently and completely walk away from my career I love so much for what God has called me to do. I was broken hearted at first to let go my cherish high paying profession for 50+ years but my ultimate desire is to obey and please God that I was able to get over it!
I ask myself is this my ministry or God’s? The Lord began to console me about my ministry to get back to Him by closing doors and locking the windows of any job openings to focus on Him. Invitations stopped, and I found myself alone living with my youngest son and God. For three months, I was shut in with God and He miraculously met my needs and download His plan. I discovered if you slow down and spend time with Him, you won’t lose your ministry and be empower strengthen by His wisdom. If it’s God’s ministry, it will continue without you.
During this time, I saw my ministry take off as I travel back to my country like never before as I started a house of prayer and deliverance ministry. All I did was spend time with Him. One day as I felt His loving arms around me, I sensed He was delighted to have me be with Him, without doing anything for Him. He was thrilled with my presence, and I discovered that we were created to be with Him on earth, not only in heaven. I believe there are times when we should stop what we are doing long enough to find out if God is still calling us in the same direction that He did years ago.
He said, “Daughter, as you rest in Me, you will reap where you have not sown.” Maybe He is calling you also to take a break so you don’t fall apart. And don’t worry, if you take a break, the earth will keep right on turning. It was turning before you arrived here, and will continue after you are gone.
