Let us not grow weary in well-doing, for in due time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. (Galatians 6:9, BSB)
Too often, we are in a hurry to meet up with one appointment or another, speeding above the posted speed limit. Some city, county, and state highway officials have added speed cameras in a bid to dissuade motorists from speeding. You can make it to your appointment without speeding. What do you do when it seems the promises of God over your life are taking longer than usual to be fulfilled in your life? You’d likely do anything to gain some speed, even if you had to pay a fine from the speed light camera.
Our opening verse says, “Let us not grow weary or become discouraged in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap, if we do not give in. (Galatians 6:9, Amplified) Progress has been defined by many as achievement or speed for a very long time. Have we ever wondered what God sees as progress? There are times God may want you to be still and know He is God. The Bible says, “For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry.” (Habakkuk 2:3). There is a due time for that vision or purpose. Do not allow anyone to push you into the ring before your due time. God has never been late, and He will not start with you.
It is almost certain that you have had or are having days when you felt like giving up. It may seem that the dream is not going to come to pass or that time has passed. That is man’s calculation. Do not focus on the time; focus on the one who controls the time. It is in God’s character to keep His word. “So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; it shall not return to Me void, but it shall accomplish what I please, and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.” (Isaiah 55:11).
CONFESSION
I refuse to grow weary or be discouraged in my walk of faith, for I know there is a due time for my harvest if I do not give up. Glory to God!
