GOD HAS NOT FORGOTTEN YOU

But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you. To him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen. (1 Peter 5:10-11)

There was a period of silence between Malachi (the Old Testament) and Matthew (the New Testament). This period of silence is referred to as the intertestamental period. It is believed to have been about four hundred years, and it was marked by a great silence—no one heard the voice of the Lord. Some periods in our lives sometimes seem like God is silent, no matter what we say or do. How do you navigate through such a season in your life?

The enemy wants you to believe God has forgotten you; that’s not true! You might be going through a season where it seems all you have is prophecy and no evidence or manifestation. You might have done all you know how to do, yet things have remained the same. What you do in seasons like this will determine whether or not you come into the next season of your life. Our theme verse says, “But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle you.” (1 Peter 5:10). God will surely come through for you in that situation. Hold on to your faith and stay true to the last instruction you received.

When it seems like God is silent, you better believe it. He is working on your case. Imagine how the children of Israel felt after not hearing thus says the Lord for 400 years. It was under such conditions that the angel Gabriel came and announced the birth of John and Jesus Christ. God is going to birth something through you that will affect lives in your period of silence. The Psalmist must have felt the same way when he said, “I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth.” (Psalm 121:1-2)

CONFESSION

The Lord will come through for me, for I know my redeemer lives. For the Lord God is a sun and shield; the Lord will give grace and glory; no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly.
