GOD CALLS THE UNQUALIFIED

God calls The Unqualified

But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty. (1 Corinthians 1:27).

God measures men from the heart not from their feet. The account of David’s anointing as King reveals so much lesson to the believer in Christ Jesus. There is something, it appears, that attracts God to the forsaken, forgotten, unqualified and rejected. People who fall under the category mentioned above have a better understanding of the verse “I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth” (Psalm 121:1-2).

God’s choice of David instead of Eliab, Abinadab or Shammah who were soldiers and from the human perspective qualified for the job indeed showed that God uses the foolish things of the world to confound the wise. Some theologians believe David must have been about 15 or 16 years old when he was anointed before his brothers; This just doesn’t make sense! The things of God will never make sense that is why the Bible says “Now the just shall live by faith” (Hebrews 10:38a).

If your desire is to host the Almighty, remain unqualified in your own eyes and hungry for Him to take ownership of your vessel to showcase His glory. In the world where everyone is seeking attention to show what they can do, let your life be an invitation from God to men and women who come in contact with you. In the book of Exodus, Moses felt and expressed exactly the same reservation when God called him “And Moses said unto the LORD, O my Lord, I am not eloquent, neither heretofore, nor since thou hast spoken unto thy servant: but I am slow of speech, and of a slow tongue” (Exodus 4:10). What was God’s response to Moses? “And the LORD said unto him, Who hath made man’s mouth? or who maketh the dumb, or deaf, or the seeing, or the blind? have not I the LORD? Now therefore go, and I will be with thy mouth, and teach thee what thou shalt say” (Exodus 4:11-12). If you can remain unqualified in your eyes and daily yielded to God, He will showcase His strength and wisdom in your life. You are next in line for a supernatural announcement.

PRAYER

Precious Father, I humbly come before you, may you mold my heart into what you can use for your glory. None of me but all of you in Jesus’ name.
