FEED YOUR FAITH

2 Corinthians 5:7 – For we walk by faith, not by sight.

Faith is the way of life of the new creature in Christ Jesus. He doesn’t need to pray about it – he was born that way. Having understood that faith is the foundation of everything in our walk with God, knowing how to feed your faith will be a step in the right direction. One of the best gifts you can give your spiritual life is to grow in faith.

There are challenges that will make you question what you believe, if you are not well rooted in God’s Word. Our opening verse says we walk; it’s not a one day activity – it’s for life. What exactly does walking by sight mean? Simply put, it means relying on your senses. Jesus said “It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life” (John 6:63).

Spiritual growth is intentional and continuous. You must starve the flesh of its favorite food – fear. Whatever you feed – by giving attention to it, believing and giving voice to will ultimately give birth. The Word of God is the product with which to build your faith. Immerse yourself in the Word of God until it becomes the object of your thought, speech and subconscious.

Job constantly fed his fear. “For the thing which I greatly feared is come upon me, and that which I was afraid of is come unto me” (Job 3:25). It was almost impossible for calamity not to arrive at Job’s residence – his fear was the invitation Satan needed to gain access. Refuse to let fear grow unchecked in your life – it gives birth after its kind. Make the Word of God your only reality. Disconnect from anyone or anything that transmits fear, unbelief and negativity. Remember, “The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light” (Matthew 6:22). Fix your eyes on the Word of God until it forms an image of possibilities in your heart.

CONFESSION

Fear is disabled in me; The Word of God is the object of my thoughts and meditations. My faith is fed daily as I study the Word of God. I am a doer of God’s Word.
