ETERNAL LIFE IS AVAILABLE

John 10:10 – The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.

Eternal life – the very life of God is available to man today. The religious minds who believe eternal life is only available when we get to heaven will certainly not like the above statement. Jesus obviously wasn’t speaking to dead people when he said he came so they could have life. What kind of life exactly?

The life of God is imparted into the human spirit at new birth and he becomes what Apostle Peter called partaker of the divine nature. This life is superior to the devil, sickness and death. Jesus never minced words when he said they may have this life more abundantly. How could you explain the life that turned Saul the ardent persecutor of Christians to a believer in Christ and a preacher of the gospel to the Gentiles.

Many believers live beneath the provisions of the life made available in Christ Jesus. For example, when the Bible says “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose” (Romans 8:28) there are some Christians who don’t believe it. Recall Apostle John said “For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith” (1 John 5:4).

Witnessing the love of God freely expressed in Christ Jesus to friends, family and neighbors becomes a task we must take very seriously. The life of God is available to every man; believing and confessing the lordship of Jesus is what guarantees the transference of this life.

CONFESSION

The life of God dwells in me. I am born of the Spirit and whatsoever is born of the Spirit overcomes the world. Glory to God.
