So when He saw them, He said to them, Go, show yourselves to the priests. And so it was that as they went, they were cleansed. (Luke 17:14)
One of the major hindrances that believers face in their walk of faith isn’t the devil. You are probably surprised by that statement, but the truth remains: Satan is no longer the problem of the believer in Christ. The refusal or inability to act on God’s word has hindered many from stepping into their answered prayers.
In our opening verse, Jesus instructed the ten lepers to show themselves to the priest. The law of Moses mentioned in Leviticus 14 was what Jesus referred to when he told the men to show themselves to the priest. The miracle of healing for the lepers was contingent on their participation—going to show themselves to the priest. It didn’t matter how much they prayed and fasted, sowed seeds of faith, and made declarations; their healing was only going to happen if they went to show themselves to the priest. It is time to start acting on the word of God. “So when He saw them, He said to them, Go, show yourselves to the priests. And so it was that as they went, they were cleansed.” (Luke 17:14)
The word of God is meant to be acted on. “But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.” (James 1:22) The word of God says you are the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus; act on it! The ten lepers didn’t make excuses; they acted on Jesus’ instructions; and that’s how they received their miracle. Stop making excuses or blaming the devil; it’s time to do the will of God. Put the word of God over your life to action and see unending results.
CONFESSION
I am a doer of the word of God; my profit appears for all to see. I walk by faith and not by sight, and my eyes are opened to behold wondrous things from the word of God. Glory Hallelujah!
